Collective Agreement Highlights:
- Maternity/Adoptive/Parental Leave top-up
- 2 Personal Leave Days with carryover of one personal leave day to the following school year
- Voluntary participation in extra-curricular activities (Extra-curricular Recognition or ECR)
- The ability to apply ECR days and personal days to weekends, long weekends, and holidays (with some exceptions)
- Employee paid Extended Health and Dental Plans
- Indigenous teachers are entitled to up to 3 days of leave for Ceremonial, Cultural or Spiritual Observance
- Up to 130 days of accumulated sick leave
- Short Term Disability Plan
- A jointly administered Professional Development Fund (2024-2025 Board installment is $530, 415)
- A process to protect teachers in case of complaint
- Indigenous teachers are entitled to up to 3 days of leave for Ceremonial, Cultural or Spiritual Observance
- An uninterrupted lunch period of fifty-five (55) consecutive minutes
- Preparation time minimum of 210 minutes per cycle starting in September 2025. Note that Pembina Trails prep time is status quo (the prep time in 2023-2024 stays as a minimum throughout this Provincial Collective Agreement)
- Salary increases with retroactive pay as follows:
2022/2023 2.5%
2023/2024 2.75%
2024/2025 3.0%
2025/2026 3.0% with a 1% retention adjustment on February 1, 2026. Retroactive pay will be provided by December 2024.
